This page provides a summary of the CME earned for the specified content and timeframe.
Activity Rollup Summary
This page summarizes the amount of CME earned by various categories.
Activity Name: all of Medality's courses are categorized as one of the following activities with ACCME.
- Mastery Series
- Case Challenge
- Expert Case Review
- Emergency Series
- Live Events*
- Fellowships*
*There are multiple Live Event and Fellowship ACCME activities, based on the topic and/or date the event occurred.
Modality: the Modalities that the CME was earned toward. Medality offers content across all major radiology modalities.
Subspecialty: the Subspecialties that the CME was earned toward. Medality offers content across all major radiology subspecialties.
Note that a course can only be assigned one Activity Name, but may include content covering multiple Modalities and Subspecialties. Therefore, CME credits in the Modality and Subspecialty section will often add up to a higher value than the entire certificate.
Course Transcript
Each course that is included in the certificate will be listed on its own page. There are 2 versions of this page, screenshots for each version below. Learners and Admins can choose which version they want in the Manage CME interface using the “Include Course Contents in Download Feature.”
- V1 is the summary view that does not include details about the clinical topics that were covered in the course.
- V2 is the detailed view that includes details about the clinical topics that were covered in the course.
Unlike many CME Providers that require learners to fully complete a course to earn CME, Medality awards CME based on progress. This means that CME is often earned across a date range for each course. This system allows the learner to pick and choose relevant content across many courses and still get CME credit.
Learners and administrators can also generate certificates filtered to a specific date range using the Manage CME interface. When a date range is applied, only CME earned within that defined period will appear on the certificate. If a learner engaged with a course both inside and outside of the specified date range, the certificate will reflect only the portion of credit earned within the selected window — ensuring that the credits represented are accurately scoped to the timeframe needed for a given accreditation or licensing period.
If you are tracking these activities for licensing or credentialing purposes (i.e. MQSA) and require a single date, our guidance would be to use the End Date, but please note that CME was actually earned for activities completed across the entire date range.
FAQs
Q: A state is flagging that it appears a learner earned CME for the same course across multiple times periods. How should we handle this?
A: Because learners can earn CME for a single course across multiple time periods, it is possible that course will appear on multiple certificates with different dates and CME amounts. To make it clear that different clinical content was reviewed in those time periods, use the “Include Course Contents in Download Feature” in the Manage CME interface.
Q: I see that courses are listed with a date range, but I only need a single date that the CME was earned for tracking purposes. How should we handle this?
A: If you are tracking these activities for licensing or credentialing purposes (i.e. MQSA) and require a single date, our guidance would be to use the End Date, as this represents the date on which the final credit for that course was awarded. Please note that CME was actually earned for activities completed across the entire date range. Alternatively, if you need to confirm that CME falls within a specific accreditation window, you can generate a date-filtered certificate in the Manage CME interface. Only credit earned within the selected date range will appear on that certificate, giving you a precise record scoped to the required time period.
Q: The certificate includes CME for multiple subspecialties and/or modalities, but I need a certificate for a specific subspecialty (i.e. only breast CME for the last 3 years for MQSA). How would I accomplish this?
A: In the Manage CME interface, when you are downloading CME you can filter to a specific time period, subspecialty, and modality. When filtering by date range, only CME with an End Date falling within the selected window will be included on the certificate. If a course spans both inside and outside the date range, only the credit earned within the filtered period will be reflected. Use these filters to select the exact CME you need documentation for.
Take note that these filters are “inclusive,” meaning that if you select a particular Subspecialty and/or Modality, any activities tagged with that taxonomy will be included. For example, filtering for just "Breast" may still include content tagged as "Breast" and "Women's Health."
